Electrical energy is caused by a difference in potential, which causes electrons to move through a conductive medium. Electrical phenomena have been recorded since ancient Greece, when Thales of Miletus noticed static electricity. With the passage of time, society has become more dependent on electrical energy, requiring high investments in generation and distribution for practically the entire world. The distribution system aims to direct and regulate electricity from generation to end consumers.
